An exhibtion of recent work, Shacklewell lane, Dalston, London, 2025.
Daniel’s work lives somewhere between abstraction and figuration, in that space where shapes and colours start to mean something but stay open to interpretation, inspiring new ways of seeing. His process is playful and experimental, setting up rules only to bend or break them, using texture and colour to explore feeling and form.
The Orbit is a reference to the legendary Leeds techno venue that Daniel used to go to in the 90’s - a wonderful place for misspent youth - , but his inspiration derives from all forms of creativity, including old english folk customs. Tp Daniel, folk and rave culture are two ends of one spectrum, forms of self expression by and for the commoners of the land.
“As a mutli-disciplinary artist, I feel like I’m always orbiting art, trying to capture ideas in a physical form. This collection reflects that movement, drifting between the familiar and the abstract, the structured and the spontaneous. The Orbit challenges perspectives and reframes our perception, always in motion, always becoming.”
